My Conclusion
This promotion actually target for Visa Infinite, Visa Signature Card and Japan Platinum Visa Card holders only. If you only have Visa Platinum Card, I suggest you register on this promotion to see if their system will still give you double points. I doubt they will check so precisely if you just pay by a normal Visa card.

To register and start earning double HHonors Points, Hilton HHonors members must first register at HHonors.com/VisaDouble prior to check-out of your stay within the Promotion Period. “Double HHonors Points” means you will receive a bonus equal to the number of base points earned during a stay. Registered HHonors members will only receive bonus HHonors Points for qualifying nights completed during the Promotion Period, regardless of whether the check-in date is before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date is after the Promotion Period ends.
